Pet First Aid

Dogs and cats are more than just pets – they’re family. Sixty-three percent of all U.S. households own pets. For many people, pets are considered a loved and valued member of their families and just like any other member of the family, pets deserved to be cared for and protected. To help pet owners be prepared the Cape Fear Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering a Pet First Aid Class for cat and dog owners.

 Topics Include:

 ·     Spaying and Neutering

 ·         Administering Medication

 ·         Managing Breathing or Cardiac Emergencies

 ·         Treating Wounds or Injuries

 The class is 3 hours long and includes a comprehensive cat or dog first aid book for everyone registered, as well as a free DVD with step-by-step demonstrations on how to manage a variety of urgent care situations.

 Cost: $35/person
