Volunteer As An Instructor

Interested in becoming a volunteer instructor at the American Red Cross? You can use your time, knowledge and experience by teaching others and helping the Red Cross reach people in your community.

Each year, the Red Cross teaches lifesaving skills to nearly 12 million people, but we can't do it alone. Reaching this many people requires your help.

By volunteering as an instructor, you can:

        - Teach First Aid, CPR/AED, Lifeguarding, HIV/AIDS Prevention and others.

        - Gain valuable teaching experience -- and receive great training.

        - Train people in your company, organization or community.

        - Help others learn to save lives.

A volunteer Red Cross instructor is a member of a select group of trained and authorized individuals who truly care about making a difference. As a volunteer, you can use your lifesaving skills and experience to give back to your community. You'll feel good about yourself and make a valuable difference in the lives of others.

Plus, we'll help you build and refine all the skills you need to become a successful volunteer instructor.

So, how do you know you have what it takes?

        - You enjoy communicating with a variety of people.

        - You are enthusiastic about helping others.

        - You are willing to develop a full understanding of subject matter and stay informed of new developments.

Sound like you? Check out our detailed guidelines about becoming an instructor and download an application. If you're interested in volunteering, please call us at the Cape Fear Chapter at (910) 762-2683 to discuss your specific goals.

We look forward to building a safer world with you!
